Frankrijk viert vandaag zijn nationale feestdag. In Parijs vond naar jaarlijkse gewoonte een militaire parade plaats, en vlogen ook de gevechtsvliegtuigen van de luchtmacht in formatie over de hoofdstad. 

De Franse president François Hollande woonde de plechtigheden op de Champs-Elysées bij met zijn Mexicaanse collega Enrique Peña Nieto.
