Jude Law brengt bezoekje aan vluchtelingenkamp in Calais

Acteur Jude Law liet zich van zijn beste kant zien: hij bracht een bezoek aan het vluchtelingenkamp in Calais. De acteur wil met zijn visite meer aandacht vestigen op de vluchtelingenproblematiek en het grote aantal kinderen dat verblijft in de kampen.

De Britse ster schreef enkele dagen geleden een open brief naar premier David Cameron. Hij vroeg dat niet-begeleide minderjarige vluchtelingen uit Calais overgeplaatst werden naar Groot-Brittannië. De brief werd uiteindelijk ondertekend door meer dan 100 bekende Britten.

Het was even schrikken toen Law aankwam in de ‘jungle’. Om zijn woorden kracht bij te zetten bracht hij een bezoek aan het kamp en stak hij een hart onder de riem aan de 3.700 vluchtelingen die er verblijven. Singer-songwriter Tom Odell vergezelde Law en speelde enkele van zijn nummers voor de vluchtelingen.
